All groups, activities, and meetings are at the NAMI office
located at 14 Healey Ave., Suite D, in Plattsburgh
(unless otherwise indicated). Parking is free and is located
at the back of the building. If you need more information,
call 561-2685.

Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP): NAMI: CV is
offering a new 12-session WRAP Program, beginning on
September 11th at 10 AM and continuing weekly until
November 27. Recovery Educator Barbara Copeland Perry
teaches this best practice, self-help program to empower
you take control of your recovery from mental, physical, and emotional problems. Please call Barb at 643-8822 by
September 5th to register.

Family Gatherings: Family Gatherings is a support group for
those with an adult loved one with a mental illness. A group of experienced facilitators offer this group every Wednesday night
from 7 to 9 PM at Edy’s of Course, 34 Skyway Plaza,
Plattsburgh (near Aubochon Hardware). Come and learn more
about your loved ones mental illness and ways to help him or
her as well as yourself. For more information, call NAMI:CV at 561-2685.

Parent Support Group: On the 3rd Thursday of each month from
7 to 8:30 PM, NAMI: CV offers a Parent Support Group for those
with a child or adolescent with psychiatric, behavioral, or
emotional issues. Come learn from and talk with other parents
who are experiencing the challenges of raising a child or
adolescent with mental health problems. The NAMI: CV library
and resource room will be available to you. For information,
call NAMI: CV at 561-2685.

Bipolar Support Group: NAMI offers a free weekly support group
for people with bipolar disorder, also known as manic depressive illness. The group meets every Monday from 5 to 6:30 PM in the NAMI: CV office. If you want help managing the ups and downs of your illness, this group is for you. Call 561-2685 for more information.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Support Group for Women: NAMI is offering a free PTSD Support Group for women on
Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:45 PM. The group will focus on both support and education about PTSD. For more information or to register, please call the NAMI office at 561-2685.

Arts and Crafts Group: Enjoy making things? Join this new group
to participate in therapeutic art exercises and group projects and
to learn new skills and techniques to include in your own art
explorations. This group helps participants not only to channel
positive energy into art as a positive outlet, but also to complete
projects that will benefit the NAMI office itself, like greeting cards
or projects for craft fairs. The group meets every Wednesday at
the NAMI office from 12 to 2 PM. Call 561-2685 for more information.

Suicide Grief Support Group: This group meets the third Tuesday of the month at the United Way Building at 45 Tom Miller Rd., Plattsburgh, from 7 to 8:30 PM. If you are interested in learning more about the group, or in joining the group, please contact Mary Anne Cox at 561-2685, extension 12. You are not alone. Come gain support and understanding from others who have walked in your shoes.

Emotion Regulation and Communication: The next 16-session Emotion Regulation and Communication Group will begin on Monday, July 16th from 4 to 6 PM and continue every Monday and Wednesday until Monday, September 10th. Come learn to regulate your emotions and communicate your needs. Please be sure to register ASAP at 561-2685 if you are interested in signing up as seating is limited.
